What I can’t say in words

I say with my body

Inspiring, captivating and engaging. Donnalee discovered her love of dance in the Okanagan valley when, at age 14 she took a belly dance class at her local community centre. dance classes became a way to connect with other women.

For Donnalee belly dance became a gateway to other dance cultures, mainly fire dancing. Using Poi (balls on chains) swords, staff fans and hula hoops she can make jaws drop as she weaves fire around her body.

As an instructor of dance Donnalee has a special talent for beaking down steps and choreographies to convey them with empathy and patience.

Her career in dance has allowed her to perfom not just in British Columbia but in Turkey and other parts of Europe. She firmly believes dance has been the medium that allows her to express herself wholly.
